Pure Imagination
How AI rebuilt my business in 10 days — and why it really took nine years and ten days.

Ten days ago, I ran a mom-and-pop headshot studio.
Today I’m standing in the middle of a business I barely recognize — new website, rebuilt systems, a brand that finally looks like what I always felt it was on the inside. And I got here by doing something that, a year ago, I wouldn’t have believed was a real phrase a grown man could say out loud:
I vibed it out with an AI.
Let me explain. Because the headline — “AI rebuilt my business in 10 days!” — is the fun part. But it isn’t the true part. The true part is better.
The 10 days
It started with my old website. Which was… let’s be kind and call it “a website.” It worked, technically, the way a paper airplane technically flies.
So I sat down with Claude and we rebuilt the whole thing from scratch. Not by me learning to code — by me describing what I wanted it to feel like, and the two of us refining it together until it was right. Then we didn’t stop at the website. I typed in a slightly insane prompt:
“We want to turn this into an eight-figure company. What do we do?”
And instead of laughing at me, it handed me a plan. So we followed it. Step by step — systems, structure, the whole engine an eight-figure company runs on. In ten days, I rebuilt the machine.
I’ll be honest with you: there were a couple of 2-and-3-a.m. nights in there. Turns out pure imagination keeps banker’s hours for absolutely no one. But ten days later, I’ve got something genuinely beautiful.
Okay — but what on earth is “vibe coding”?

Great question. It’s exactly what it sounds like.
Vibe coding is where you stop trying to be a Technical Person and just… talk. You tell the AI what you’re thinking, what you’re feeling, what you want the thing to do — and it builds it. Then you steer on vibes. “No, warmer.” “More us.” “That header feels stiff.” And it just goes.
It’s the closest thing I’ve ever felt to having a creative partner who never gets tired, never gets precious about their ideas, and is limited by exactly one thing: my imagination.
Which brings me to the part I actually want you to hear.
The twist nobody puts in the headline
Here’s what “I rebuilt my business in 10 days” quietly leaves out:
It took nine years and ten days.
For about nine of those years, I was winging it. Winging the business, winging the marketing, winging what I even was. I made just about every mistake a small business owner can make, and I paid for most of them twice.
Then, six months ago, I finally did the thing I should’ve done on day one: I hired a business coach. And we started doing the slow, unglamorous, deeply un-Instagrammable work. We defined exactly who I serve. We clarified the message. We built real offers. We developed a brand voice and actual brand guidelines. We worked with designers. I spent real money — not because it was fun, but because I’d finally accepted that I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
None of that was magic. All of it was foundation.
Because here’s the truth about “you’re only limited by your imagination”: it’s a lie if you skip the foundation. Imagination without solid business principles is just expensive daydreaming — you’ll vibe your way into a beautiful disaster.
But imagination sitting on top of nine years of hard-won fundamentals? That’s a different animal. That’s the moment the AI stops being a toy and turns into a rocket — because you finally know where to point it. We weren’t limited by our imagination or by shaky fundamentals. We’d already done the work to make the fundamentals rock-solid. So the only ceiling left was how big we were willing to dream.
That’s the real pure imagination. Not magic. Earned.

Want to know the genuinely wild part? I’m not even writing this blog.
I’m dictating it — to my AI CMO, who’s turning my rambling into the post you’re reading right now. And while it does that, another thread is quietly working through my entire old contact list: tagging every person and writing a short summary of every conversation we’ve ever had, so my team can follow up like humans who actually remember you. And a third is combing through my website chasing the best Google PageSpeed scores it can get. (Performance is genuinely tricky, so “the best it can” is the honest promise — not a magic wand.)
Three jobs. One guy dictating in a purple velvet hat. All at once.
That’s not the future. That was Tuesday.

The takeaway (for the business owner reading this at 2 a.m.)
If you’re where I was — winging it, overwhelmed, quietly convinced everyone else got a manual you never received — here’s the honest order of operations:
Do the boring work first. Learn your customer. Sharpen your message. Build your foundation, even when it’s slow and expensive and nobody claps for it. Then let your imagination off the leash.
Because when the ground underneath you is solid, there’s almost nothing you can’t build. And it turns out the door to a world of pure imagination was never actually locked.
It just had a small sign on it that read: please do your homework first.
Come see what we built
Nine years of foundation, ten days of imagination, and a studio that finally feels like us. We’d love to point some of that at your headshot.
